We are building our African Series Library, starting with the African Writers series. Over time, other series will be added to include books and materials on African Design, African Photography, African Film, etc.
The African Writers Series Library – which is a physical and digital library – amplifies the voices of African writers, shaping the literary landscape and providing a platform for users to engage with African perspectives, cultures and socio-political issues. It captures the historical and political experiences in Africa and serves as a source of documentation for dialogue, reflection and collective memory. It will also serve as a resource for literary development, critical thinking and education on the interconnectedness of African experiences.
At The Sahara Centre, we understand the contributions African narratives make to strengthen a sense of identity that can foster social cohesion and critical thinking. If you would like to donate books to establish the African Series Library, send us an email at culture@saharacentre.org
