The Sahara Centre is helping 25 young creative professionals to build and apply critical thinking skills through the Lantern Lab Series. The curriculum is designed to give creative professionals the mental toolkit needed to thrive in today’s society and solve contemporary challenges.

Lantern Labs is a series of critical thinking workshops aimed at developing reflective, problem-solving skills in creatives that contribute to effective decision making, leadership ability and overall success in life.

On a lively Saturday, October 7, our workshop kicked off, immersing participants in the fundamentals of critical thinking. Led by Joseph Ogbeide, a visual artist and business development specialist, and Adeyemo Shokunbi, an architect and craftsman from Patrick Waheed Design Consultancy (PWDC), the day was packed with engaging activities and self-reflection exercises.

Together, we delved into self-regulation techniques, setting the stage for a dynamic 4-week series. Participants were not just passive learners; they actively honed their critical thinking skills through games and interactive sessions.

As the session wrapped up, participants shared the problems close to their hearts, forming groups based on shared challenges. It was inspiring to witness the diverse perspectives coming together.

The workshop continues on Saturday, October 14 at 10 a.m. (WAT), with the session focusing on designing human-centered solutions—tackling personal, business, and societal challenges head-on. Get ready for more interactive learning and problem-solving!
